The Propsal

I had been bugging Josh for a proposal for a while, but little did I know he was trying to pull it off perfectly!
My favorite movie is Disney's Tangled. The Rapunzel character has some of the same traits I do. My hair is not 70 feet long, but it's always been long to mid back since I met Josh. Mine and Josh's favorite trait I share, is when I get excited I start bouncing up and down.

Friday: January 25, 2013

It was a busy long week and day at work. I got home and plopped on the couch to chill out. I get a text from Josh asking about doing a date night. A date night with my boyfriend of course! I suggest Macaroni Grill, he comes back with The Royal Pig in Las Olas. I don't know if I'm up for that level of fanciness (not that it is, just going on Las Olas I always feel the need to look nice) and the drive to there on a Friday night. I suggest we play it by ear until he gets home.
Here is how that played out:

We now knew the real reason why he was so excited. I knew something was going on, but I had no idea what. So off to dinner we went to the Royal Pig. It was a really great night with beautiful weather. After dinner we went for a little walk down Las Olas and then decided on going to Sopranos Piano Bar at Beach Place. Josh kept telling me to get something to drink. So at this point I am 2 glasses of wine in from dinner, and 1 beer at Sopranos, and 2 angry orchards. After we had our fun at Sopranos it was time to go home. Josh was driving and half way on the ride home he says "I have 1 more stop and I don't want to hear any complaints from you." I was tipsy enough to just go along with it. He took the scenic back road route to the Bank Atlantic Center (BB&T Center) and parked in the middle of the open parking lot. He hopped out of the car prompting me to do the same and he opened the trunk of my car to reveal green floating lanterns! I was bouncing for joy clapping my hands, giddy like a school girl, this was awe-some! We get ready and send the first one off. I am the one left holding it up waiting for enough hot air to fill it to make it rise, when I let go and it starts to go off I get so excited. I go to tapped Josh on the shoulder (who should be right next to me) because this is so awesome and he isn't there. I look to my right to confirm that he isn't, and I start to turn around, all the way behind is Josh on 1 knee holding a box proposing. At that point I couldn't decided whether to focus on the lantern or the ring, I remember looking back and forth a few time. He had a whole little spiel lined up, but I didn't even let him finish. I tackled him to the ground and said "FINALLY!!"
We set off another lantern after that and watched it together.

Daddy- Daughter Dance

I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out a "father-daughter" dance song. My dad and I don't have the typical father-daughter relationship. There is no "lovey dovey-ness" between us. So the typical sappy songs just don't fit.

I have a few in mind, but they all have a "problem":

1. Danny Boy (Irish Song): It's traditionally for funerals

2. Pride and Joy- Stevie Ray Vaughn: great song, I love the blues-y feel. However part of the lyrics are "I'll be her little lover boy". If I don't use it for father-daughter, Josh and I defiantly will be dancing to it. We both love the song, and he's a HUGE Stevie Ray Vaughn fan.

3. Wherever you will go- The Calling or Charlene Soeaia: I love the lyrics of this song, its more meant for a husband or wife that loses the other, but I think it can translate to father daughter. However, Josh HATES the band The Calling, and they do a little more rock and roll than I would like. Charlene is a woman and I would prefer to have a male sing it. Now in writing this I found and acoustic version by a male singer, that I am totally digging!
